Perth Native Nursery
The Natural Area native plant nursery is accredited by the Nursery & Garden Industry Australia (NGIA) with a reputation as the pre-eminent producer of plants for restoration, revegetation and landscape for Perth and WA regions.
Native Plant Production
Dedicated to supporting biodiversity through revegetation, our nursery produces over 1.3 million native plants each year across over 600 species, including many that are difficult to propagate.
We pride ourselves on:
- Producing high-quality, pest-free stock through strict hygiene practices
- Supplying site-conditioned plants to match specific environmental conditions
- Breaking ground with challenging species like Hibbertia hypericoides and Triodia
- Combining in-house seed collection, botanical expertise, and plant production under one roof
We use a range of propagation methods including seed, cuttings, division, and salvage. Our team perform all seed treatments in-house ensuring optimal germination and performance.

Native Plants for Revegetation & Restoration
Contract Growing
We specialise in contract growing, customised to meet the unique requirements of a diverse range of revegetation and restoration projects. We work closely with clients to produce high-quality, provenance-specific plants that are perfectly suited to site conditions and restoration objectives.
From expert advice on selecting appropriate species for your project, to seed collection and plant delivery, we manage the entire process.
We take orders year round for plant supply and can provide local provenance seed where required. We can produce stock in a range of pot sizes to suit the conditions of the planting site from small e-cells to large sedge bags.
Whilst we predominately contract grow, we do hold stock of many species available for immediate supply.
Species List
We have in production, over 600 different native plants at our Perth native nursery but we are always trialing new propagation techniques in order to supply a wider variety. We endeavor to grow new species all the time so if the species you need is not on our list then please let us know, we can also supply selected plants for landscaping purposes.

Accreditation & Affiliations
The nursery is accredited under the Nursery Industry Accreditation Scheme Australia (NIASA), which stipulates high standards of nursery hygiene. The nursery is subjected to annual auditing and has maintained accreditation since 2008. The nursery is also affiliated and active in the International Plant Propagation Society (IPPS) Society and the Australian Network for Plant Conservation Inc. (ANPC).
Pathogen Control
We are very conscious of pathogen infections and fully understand the consequences of plant diseases and fungus like Phytophthora cinnamomi. We implement strict hygiene protocols such as regularly cleaning benches and equipment and having disinfecting footbaths at every entry to the nursery. A range of insecticides and herbicides are used in accordance with MSDS and standard procedures. We alternate any chemical treatment to avoid resistance.
Soil Testing
Soil is an important growing medium and is tested on a monthly basis. New soil is quarantined from old soil in order to avoid inconsistencies when propagating and to maintain quality. The pH and EC (electrical conductivity) are measured, recorded and analysed for reference, these measures safeguard against unstable fertilisers. Each soil batch is tested for Dieback and soil usage is tracked through the nursery.
